About the project
We are currently seeking a mid-level Automation Engineer to join our client’s global Engineering team, focused on automating manual processes and enabling teams to deploy software changes safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with key product stakeholders to understand processes end-to-end and identify areas for automation
- Design and implement performant/resilient automation to address the manual aspects of the process
- Apply security-by-default: secrets management, least privilege & vulnerability management.
- Monitor and improve process performance, optimising to not only meet the objective but provide head room to cater for unknown scenarios.
- Automate both process and the testing of the automation to assure it works whenever it is required.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years delivering Ansible-based automation into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and be comfortable working in a multi-cultured/global environment.
- Working experience in Agile methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and within a diverse team environment.
- Strong documentation, collaboration, and ownership mindset.
Nice to have:
- Experience of working with and improving IT Services underpinned by vendor software
- Product/domain experience in one or more of:
- File Transmission products (e.g., IBM SFG/SSP/SEAS/CD)
- Mainframe (z/OS) and job execution workflows
- BMC Control‑M - An understanding of financial services compliance and risk management requirements.
